“parental… discretion...is advised, UH OH!”

Above are lyrics from the Justin Timberlake track, Chop Me Up, that feature Timbaland and Three Six Mafia. As a kid, I never understood what DJ Paul meant when he said, “Cause you’re the worst best girlfriend I ever had.” All I knew is that it was a damn good song, as my aunt Torry and I yelled the lyrics at the top of our lungs whilst our hearts paced in amazement at the intensity of the song’s sudden composition switch. It was only inevitable for the American boy to one day understand the insane nature of loving the complex person that is a woman.

I think there are stages of such attachment. It begins in adolescence, with the first reference point being the relationship a boy has with his mother. How do those two individuals communicate with each other? Of course, this a duty of the mother since the boy hasn’t a clue of the differences in communicating with either sex, let alone actually communicating. His father’s input should be focused on primarily for the child since his role in society aligns with his son’s.

The second stage sees the boy utilizing the teachings of his parents in real world scenarios. He should be able to meet and engage with new people, solve problems in groups, uphold his stance in pressured situations, and obey and discern authority. In this stage he should begin to observe from sources outside the household. He should be able to ask questions that challenge his peers and his parents. The parents should adjust, making room for the boy’s mind that is clearly evolving.

The third stage is up to the boy, who is now a man. Society has grown with him, maybe even at a quicker pace. The man’s intellect much reach further than the teachings of his parents to places totally unimaginable to him. Along with everything he must do to ensure his own well-being, education and employment status, and social skills, he will also, if he chooses, discover a partner. Does it seem that we’ve reached a cliff he’ll surely fall from? No! It’s actually an occasion he must rise to. Like many strong decisions in life, this will test his beliefs, teachings, and morality.

Relationships and Companionships are like odysseys that we must do our best to see through in this lifetime. They will be our new teachers. They will become our new reference points. Be grateful to them as you explore the world and build bridges with people that may likely become individuals you’ll know forever: for good, for worst, or not at all.

To conclude, remember to have fun. Not every person you meet means to be the person you’ll know, love or even know of. There are billions of persons on this earth. To learn all of their ways is absolutely ludicrous. Nevertheless, experience your life and all the emotions it stirs you. This new, House-driven single entitled, fuh yuu, is exactly that. A perspective review of the absolutely gorgeous, generation defining, life giving, misunderstood, historically known person that is the woman.

Enjoy. Now available on Apple Music and Spotify (among others).
